If Only..

If only we could change the way things transpire,
If only we could turn back time,
If only we could change the pathway of destiny,
If only we could be someone else, someone happier, for a while,
If only we could make those beautiful mistakes again,
If only we could save them from becoming mistakes,
If only we could matter more to some, and less to others,
If only we could hold on, to solely the good times and leave behind the worse,
If only we could look beyond regrets and disappointments,
If only we could walk on the ocean,
If only we could show our true selves,
If only we could live for ourselves, and stop with all the pretense,
If only we could love unconditionally, and if we do,
If only we could be loved unconditionally,
If only we could decode God,
If only we could become one,
If only we could be safe living on the edge,
If only we could live, and then live again.

  1. Interesting. But I disagree to the collision between a perfect blissed life you've tried to mention and also with it, you've described being yourself in a subtle way, avoiding pretense.

I hate to accept the fact that we live in a world which appreciates pretense, more than originality. People plan and plan and plan, to live a perfect life, where the eventually forget who they truly are. This pretense can never go away unless you free yourself from the norms of the society.

If you wanna be original, don't chase the happiness people think you deserve. Make your own. Don't wish to become God, that's impossible. Try to raise a question He fails to answer. That's when things will automatically turn into a blissful life.

Although, I've always believed there's nothing like eternal happiness. The world exists because of an equilibrium maintained. If you seek happiness, you're bound to hit chaos. It's balance. You can't fight it!

I've just tried to dig a little deeper into the subject you've written about. It's a very interesting read. Keep it up! We could only wish life were this simple!

    Cheers!
    Write more! :)

  2. Thanks Adhish!!you have indeed been very motivating and inspiring ofcourse!!
The basic motive behind this is for everyone to free themselves from "what should be done" and do "what they want to get done".
It's obviously impossible to lead a life where you make choices considering everybody else as non-existent, but a little selfishness is still justified.
That's where I felt, if only we could matter less to others.
We will always have strings attached no matter how hard we try to make them invisible.
So I guess, pretense rules after all!
Anyway, thank you so much for the insights!!

  4. Man why are you so sad..trynaa understand.
what you r writing is sheer fiction..
what is the sense of urgency in living everything in one go in one life.
have u known also what is life.
why dont u get in n get goin with the things that are right infront of you.
tantalizing yourself is a crime and i suppose a sin too.
there are things which can make you smile..
    you know that rose...
    you know that ..

dont lose faith spread it around..
dont think abt "if onlys" but listen to the life's sound...

    cheers and peace..!!!!

  5. @Ahmedabad Junction- "Man", you need to chill.
My writing is fiction or not, how does that make it a problem to you?
You cannot go about asking Shakespeare why he killed both Romeo and Juliet in the end, can you? He's dead anyway, so you can't.
And no, I do not wish to compare Shakespeare's beautiful writing to mine.
This is how I write. If the stuff makes you sad, or feel sad for me, it really is not my problem. I write what I feel like.
And, frankly, I DON'T like people telling me what to feel or what to write about.

    Peace! :)

  8. thanks pal!
and yes it does talk about everybody's life experiences, all sorts of disappointments and regrets. No matter how much we think otherwise, we'd always wanna go back in time and change a few things. It's just the way we all are built.

    Anyway, thanks once again :)
